Re: Enough calcium from one's diet

I don't think too many children OR adults get an adequate supply of calcium from their diets, especially if it's dairy free. As a few people have said, their kids just won't eat enough leafy greens to do it (and I shudder to think of how many POUNDS of grass, etc. a moose has to eat!) God may have intended us to be vegetarians in the beginning, but He intended a lot of things that we have screwed up - perhaps having to take supplements is just another result of that - but a fact, none the less. Personally, it is much easier for me to give my kids Tums, than to have to force feed them spinach (and I won't even get into the "goodness" of our food nowadays, with pesticides, etc.) If any of you have kids who love the green stuff - go for it! The bottom line for us, as parents, is to make sure that our kids get enough calcium while they are growing - in whatever way we can. Good luck!
