I'm glad you guys like the idea. What's even more important is that the kids like the fruity flavor and don't see it as a medicine. My son likes to choose his flavor each time. I give him 2 to 3 a day as was okayed by my pediatrician. We make it fun by letting him have some control over what he HAS to take as opposed to what he doesn't have a choice in. My son is a severe salt waster so he can tolerate the excess sodium. As a matter of fact, my son has been eating a whole jar of sour pickles and then drinking the juice from the jar. This lets me know that he is in need of excess sodium at least during the summer time anyway. I think that each of you should check with your ped endo just to be on the safe side because each child is different and we know that blood pressure is important to us and can be affected by the sodium. Personally, it has been a pleasant and comforting experience for us and he takes his morning one along with his vitamin so it helps him not to forget to take his vitamin too. Wendy-Lee, I think I remember hearing the same thing about the excess calcium being expelled in the urine as well.LynnT
