Our kids have never been to any other school. Our oldest is 8. He would be starting third grade now, and as I was searching for the math curriculum that he's up to, I find that he's already at 7th grade level. We have four kids and in the morning they all do homeshcool (Ginny insists on it, since her brothers are doing it. I give her a paper to draw on). Benjamin would be starting kindergarden, but he's already doing first grade work, and has been all summer. We don't have to worry about teachers or school nurses missing symptoms.
