It is very hard to trust someone else with your child. However, I would bet that everyone at your childs school will be trust worthy. Continue with your volunteer work at school, you will see what is going on. Become involved, the more the teachers and staff see you volunteering your time to the school, the more interest they will have in your child. I started volunteering at school - now I am PTA president, I know for a fact my child is getting the best care and the best education available. I am a firm believer that public education is our countrys best investment. I am also a firm believer that there is a partnership between parent and teacher. There is a partnership between myself and the school nurse. I have developed the relationship. Your child will do well in school. The first few days/weeks may be hard, it was for me as well. School was the best place for her to be. There is more to life than knowing how to do 7th grade math when you are in the 8 years old. Social skills are learned, people skills are learned, being a team player and even how to deal with bad kid skills are learned. There will be other kids on medication, I was surprised at the problems of other children, lots of health concerns there.karen
