Thanks, all, for your words; Susan A; Thankfully, you were conscious, and able to educate the personnel, otherwise, it could have become a much more dire situation. Glad you were able to help them, and that you were treated and on your way again. This is just an example of what we fear; being unable to communcicate our son's needs. I didn't consider those CAH adults that may have the same problem! Just goes to show you how enlightening this board can be! If you live in a big city, you can always find out where the first response unit would be for where you live. They may be able to meet with you, and then share the information with the other fire stations in the metro area. We actually have two response stations; this one just happens to be within a mile of our apartment. However, he was going to make copies of my material and distribute them around. Again, you have to figure you are not the only one iwth an adrenal issue, however, you can't take it for granted, as I found out in Houston, that the paramedics would know what CAH or Adrenal insufficiency is, and how to properly treat it, in Susan's case, with I.V re-hydration solution.
