My son is 9 yrs old with CAH. For the first 4 yrs of his life he was over medicated. I was a very young parent and had no idea what CAH was. I had a doctor(not a endro doctor) that said he would do his care. Little did I know the problems it would cuase. By the time he was 4 he weighed in at about 150lbs. I tried to get information on the disorder and found very little. I decieded to get another opinion and found another doctor( who again was not board certified) he said my son had cushings. I think thats how its spelled. He reduced his meds and my son ended up growing to fast. By then 6mo. went by and I found out that a specialist should have been dealing with his care all along. Now he is 9 yrs old and is very overweight. I have gotten him into the gym but that gets very expensive,and I am a single parent. I am very angry at the doctors for not leading me in the right direction and myself for not doing something sooner. I just found out about this site and have heard alot about a place called NIH. I have never heard about it and would like to know what it is. So please if you have any information on it send me a note. Thanks Heidi
