Marie, I think I stayed with Dr. New out of inertia as much as anything else. She didn't actually examine me anyway, that was done by one of her hench persons (Research Fellows). She usually just popped in briefly to say hello and ask how I was doing. Once I was an adult, the only reason I went in was to get my Cortef prescription renewed since they would only call it in so many times before insisting that I come in for a checkup. Your surmise is correct, once growth and puberty were no longer issues and my dosage stabilized, it wasn't nearly as important to have constant monitoring of my levels. I would certainly be able to tell if my dosage needed an adjustment. It's nice having a doctor who is close by. My new doctor, no pun intended, is only a couple of miles from my home.
