Hi i am 33 and a salt waster. I will tell you that my surgeries to correct my urthrea and vaginal opening where unsuccesfull. I had my clitoris removed when I was 17 that was in 1984 not that long ago. I have had nothing but problems because of the surgeries. I have pain were my clitoris was and pain during sex. The surgeries have broken up my marriage and have caused life long psychological problems. i set a web site up dealing with just this particular issue. The url is http://www.cahourstories.net You will find many articles about the surgeries like this passage from the Journal Of Pediatrics And adolescent Medicine. 7) Perform no major surgery for cosmetic reasons alone; only for conditions related to physical/medical health. This will entail a great deal of explanation needed for the parents who will want their children to "look normal." Explain to them that appearances during childhood, while not typical of other children, may be of less importance than functionality and post pubertal erotic sensitivity of the genitalia. Surgery can potentially impair sexual/erotic function. Therefore such surgery, which includes all clitoral surgery and any sex reassignment, should typically wait until puberty or after when the patient is able to give truly informed consent. If anyone would like to contact me please feel free to email I would be happy to talk anybody in detail about this subject. My suggestion is that only surgery that is medically neccessary should be preformed and all cosmetic surgery should wait for the child to form their own opinion on what they beleive should be done to their body. As I have found out what was done to me to make me normal has manage to cause problems in every aspect of my life and I will never be able to have a normal life.
