My daughter had her clitoral reduction done at 11 months. Her clitoris wasn't severed but retracted back. We made sure we had a very experienced and highly recommended surgeon. He was wonderful. He even gave me the name & number of 2 of his patients' parents who were willing to talk to other parents. That was a tremendous help. A very hard decision to make but for us the right one. She was in the hospital for 23 1/2 hours and came through with flying colors. We were lucky we had it done before she "discovered" herself. She definitely has sensation and looks great. She is a very healthy & active 2 year old. We have no regrets on our decision. She will have her vaginoplasty when she is approx. 10 yrs. old. Her urologist feels that is the best time due to scar tissue build up. Since our daughter now has a 4 month old non-cah sister we are happy that there isn't a difference between them appearance wise. Good luck with your decision and know that whatever you decide is best.
