Well, I did it. I went to the school to present them with information and instructions regarding CAH. What a pleasant surprise to find that the nurse was ALMOST more well versed in it than I am myself. She did get one thing wrong but I chose not to correct her as it didn't really make a difference and seeing that she went well out of her way to study up on this disorder I didn't want to correct her. Each time my son's teacher asked a question regarding CAH, the nurse was able to answer it within an acceptable margin of accuracy. I then decided to let her answer the rest of the questions to see just how much she knew and she passed with flying colors. I gave her and the teacher print out information and they said they would read it thouroughly. I trust that they will. She even had her own plan of action worked out for Ryan should he become sick or dehydrated. She had already notified his music teacher as well as the art teacher and the gym teacher. She is full time so they are to bring him to her immediately. I had to change one thing though. Instead of her calling 911 first, I asked her to call me 1st so that I could help in deciding if it was necessary to call 911 or if it could be handled by giving him gatorade and salty foods. I would then pick him up. That way, even if it was a 911 call, I could get a head start and drive to the school so I could ride in the ambulance with him, or they could pick me up on the way. We have almost worked it out with the ambulance service to take him directly to the hospital of our choice instead of the one 10 minutes away. I sure am feeling better than I did last week. Thank you all for listening to me and supporting me through yet another crisis of my own. You guys ARE the greatest!!!LynnT
