Hi! My 9 year old daughter was diagnosed in May with Precocious adrenarche. In March, she had a bone age scan that showed her bone age to be 11+ and her predicted adult height to be 56 inches. She has had very strong under arm odor and has been wearing deodorant since she was 5. Around age 6 she started developing pubic hair and then underarm hair. She has no breast development. I contacted the Magic Foundation and explained all this and I also mentioned that she has a life long history of dehydrating very rapidly, usually within 1-2 hours of becoming ill. And Phenergan suppositories do nothing to stop her throwing up once she starts, only IV fluids seem to work. Someone from the Magic list mentioned that she might have CAH. I found this message board and I am writing to ask some questions so I can go to her endo appt next week well prepared. In May she had the following blood tests done -T4, TSH, 17 OH progesterone, 17 OH pregnenolone, D4 androstenedon, testosterone, and DHEA.The ped endo sent me a brief note saying that the counts were normal, though I do not have the actual numbers yet. I guess my questions are: What questions should I ask the doctor? Are there other tests done to diagnose CAH? I was told that the ACTH, aldesterone and the estradiol tests are used, but she didn't have these. Does anyone live in the Houston area and know a good ped endo? We are using one out of TX Children's Ped Endo group and really had no choice which doctor to see. Would a GnRH stim test be necessary for a person with CAH? Any information and suggestions for other questions I should ask would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. MargueriteMarguerite
