Laura - remember I had written to Blue Mountain back in July and they were waaaaay into it? Well, I e-mailed my contact person last week since I hadn't heard anything. Here's what she sent this morning: Dear Karen, I don't know how familiar you are with online stuff, but let me tell you, it is an extremely fast-paced, busy business. I am working on the health project, and we won't be launching this project until it is ready--a full year's worth of health awareness (Newborn Screening Awareness is not the only health awareness, you know). We're looking at a launchdate within the next year or two. I know that it is disappointing not to see results immediately, but we are working on the health database, the cards, and everything else that goes with running a site. It takes time to put new things on, so be patient. Thank you for your contribution, Karen; Newborn Screening Awareness is on our calendar, and we are working on this project. I'm not too impressed....I'll think of another way to spread the word about the importance of newborn screening.
