I agree - a good relationship with your pharmacist is very important. I mail-order meds, so I do not see a pharmacist on a month by month level, however, I have an rx on file there for cortef and florinef. I too got into the same situation, weekend - waiting until the mail order arrives - got very low on cortef - call to doctor - dr out of office etc. I consider myself very on top of things, yet it happened to me as well. THe pharmacist, even though the rx for cortef had expired, knew of the situation and fronted me cortef to last through the weekend. WHen I did talk to the doctor (complained very seriously about his office not calling in the rx for me) he told me if the situation ever came up again and I couldn't get the meds to go straight to the childrens hospital where he attends and they have orders on file to give the meds. However, it is easier to have a good relationship with the pharmacist - it saved me a drive, and saved me even more hystaria from the fear of running out of meds.
