Re: Dosage levels (needs 17-OHP factored in, too)

I've always wondered why my Christina was on 20 mg/day (since she was 4 yrs old...she is now 6)...because it seemed like so much more than other kids' dosage. (She has 10mg in the am, 5 in the afternoon, and 5 at night) I was almost jealous of moms who had to figure out how to split pills since their kids needed such small doses. But it is what her body needs to be "adequately suppressed". Dosage is not prescribed strictly by height/weight.....which is why we take our kids in for blood tests. Even at that dose, her 17-OHP levels are anywhere from 250-700ng/dL. I need to keep this in mind and try not to compare her 20mgs/day with kids who seem to require so much less. It's kind of like learning to NOT care what the scale says when I weigh myself.....it's how my clothes fit and how I feel and how I look. People tell me I look great even if the number on the scale is way beyond what people would guess.
