Laura and I have been complaining about this for some time now. That pager type mechanism that has recently been developed for diabetics might even work for our children with respect to dispensing the proper amount of cortef throughout the day rather than on a two or three time ritual. This would allow our children to have a better chance to have their bodies react just like an average kids body. They/we could also finger stick during times of stress and illness to see what the reading is. Then, if necessary, we could program the pager to increase to stress dose when necessary. It has also been said that they have the necessary meds to develop a cure in the very near future. Why couldn't it be for CAH? I was talking to someone last night about the possibility of this and she suggested that we start writing letters to the founder of the "pager" system and ask if this could be possible. The financial aspect has already been absorbed by the Diabetes Foundation for the invention and production of the mechanism. All they would have to do is adapt it to read OHP levels and despense Cortef. Am I missing something?LynnT
