Hi, Lisa! We're from Canada, and we seem to do things a bit differently here, (compared to the States), as well. Our endo says the same thing as yours: that our kids should not NEED extra salt if they are well controlled; she DID mention however, that she felt that lots of them really LIKED the taste of salt (perhaps because of the supplements we gave them as infants??) Nevertheless, if my daughter seems to want a salty snack, I let her have it - within reason. If my child suddenly began eating vast amounts of salt, I think I would want to have her levels checked, and consult her endo. Good luck & God's blessings!Wendy-Lee
