I discovered this message board just a month ago. I have been reading all the posts, current and from the archives, and I have learned more in the last month than I have since our 18 month daughter was diagagnosed with 21 hydrodxylase def. salt wasting cah when she was 2 weeks old. I realized all the things my ped endo never told me. I have a question about giving solu-cortef and when do you give it. My daughter has had two episodes where she was vomitting (one time she vomitted 6 times) and I called the doctor each time she vomitted and asked him if I should give the shot or not? He told me it wasn't neccesary(I should explain I was not even told about the shot from the doctor I read about it when I was on the internet and I had to ask him for it and he seemed hesitant to give it to me)I should just keep an eye on her. I realize he wasn't very clear what to watch for. I didn't feel comfortable with that advice and I immediately drove her to the hospital (1 hour away) and got her IV fluids and solu-cortef through the IV. I realize how lucky I am that we didn't lose her either of those times. Most of the people on this board talk about their child vomitting one time and giving their child the solu-cortef and taking them to the hospital immediately. Is that standard? I would appreciate any input from all of you. Thanks so much. I love this message board you are all so kind and helpful.Laurel
