Hi again, I am sorry if I wasn't clear in my first post. We have had 2 different ped endos for my daughter. The first one treated her for the first year of her life. When our daughter was diagnosed she gave us a pamphlet that explains CAH and sent us home. She briefly mentioned giving double or triple doses for fever and said if she was vomitting we might need to have her medicine in shot form. She never offered us the shot and made it sound like we would have to bring her in to get it. Never one mention of adrenal crisis. That ped endo retired (thank God). Now we have a new ped endo for the past 6 months. He is better about answering my questions but if I don't ask something he doesn't give me the information. He seems unsure of himself I am not sure how many cah patients he has had. So I need to learn more so I can ask a lot of questions. I have a list 4 pages of questions for our next appt. in a week. Won't he be surprised? I will just tell him I am giving her the shot and taking her in myself so he needs to be ready to treat her when we get there. Right now he is the only ped endo in the area, the next one is over 2 hours away. If we need to switch I have no problem with that the drive is worth it if it saves my daughter's life. From what I understand you just give the shot if the child is vomitting or has diareha, is that correct. As long as the cild can keep the medicine down you should continue giving the medicine orally? If fever double or triple dose, right? Does anyone stress dose for the common cold. Just a runny nose, the child seems to feel fine. Thanks, I really love all the great advice. I am starting to feel more confident and comfortable about dealing with this condition, thanks to all of you wonderful people.Laurel
