I had the CVS test with my youngest son, Adam. He is now two years old. He is fine and everything when fine. The miscarriage rate is higher with CVS because there are more miscarriages in the first 12 weeks. The early amnio at 15 weeks is even more risky (so some doctors say). The CVS test has been done now for many years (over 17 years). Regardless of CVS or amnio it is important to have a very good and skilled doctor doing the test. If you decide on amnio wait until the 17th week. The results take two weeks or more. So you can be in your 20th week before you know the results. With CVS you can know in 10 days. 2 days for the sex of the child. And the sex of the child is what you really need to know anyway. If the child is a boy with or with out CAH - you can stop taking the dex treatment. Not only it is safer for you to stop and could be better for the baby too. I had the DNA testing done at Cornell University in New York. They sent the sample from Washington DC to New York. Dr. Maria New web page has all the information about the test. preston@kreative.net
