I think my previous message must have been misleading: I HAD an amnio done (instead of a CVS) when I was pregnant with my now 3 yr old salt-wasting daughter. CVS is becoming more popular for sure, but still (at 17 yrs) is considered a relatively "new" procedure in the medical community. I'm certain that you made a very informed and prayerful consideration when you opted for the CVS with your son, and I'm glad that everything went OK for you! If faced with this decision again, however, I would still do the same thing; as I mentioned, my pregnancy was something of a "once in a lifetime" miracle, and even a slight increase in risk of miscarriage was too much for me! Even the discomfort of several extra weeks of being on the dex (perhaps unnecessarily) was not going to deter me! Each person must obviously make their own decisions about this, and you are right that finding a competant doctor who has done the procedure many times, can mean a world of difference. God bless!Wendy-Lee
