I know what you mean. Something just doesn't seem right with the system. In Connecticut, the Daycare facilities are NOT allowed to give medicine at all, PERIOD. They say it is their insurance companies that forbids them, but I found one that was willing to do it on the sly. Actually, we got around it by putting his meds in a little milk and they just had to make sure he drank it every day at 3:00. They would never even consider giving an injection. Ryan went into crisis under their care and they still wouldn't consider it. I now work out of the home. I met a woman there whose's daughter has diabetes. She traveled almost an hour out of her way just to drop her daughter off at this daycare. That's a two hour detour per day, all because she could find no liscenced daycare facility that would administer meds. She was a single Mom just trying to make ends meet. She ended up moving back home with her parents so that they could care for her child during the day. Granted, Connecticut is the "Insurance Capitol of The World", but this is simply unacceptable! I wish you both good luck with your stuggles. Keep us posted.
