My 7 year old son has failed the schools hearing test for the last two years and when we took him to a hearing specialist we were told his hearing was fine. I always wondered what the side affects were for dehydration as my son was hospitalized 7 times by the time he was 3. My daughter had a SIDs related incident and they were concerned about a hearing loss with her due to the lack of oxygen, but she is fine. I had myself a wreck when my son didn't pass his first hearing test and then to find out that many kids don't pass and they have perfect screening. Good Luck
