Geesh, if it is not one thing it's another. Like Wendy-Lee said, who is testing our children in the schools? My pediatrician just tested my daughter with this really cool new device. They don't ask if she can hear, the little computer looking thing gives read backs that she does hear the sounds. It was brand new the week my daughter was tested. Perhaps the schools should start using this little device. And IF your son does check out to have poor hearing, you are lucky to catch it now then find out later when he fails a school year because he was not hearing correctly. Get all of this "garbage" out of the way now. My nephew has a huge hearing loss. It happened when he was an infant because his lungs were not fully developed (yet was a full term baby) His lungs collapsed every other day, was baptised in the hospital and given a small chance to live. He was in "code blue" often. Now I am thinking Lynn of your son's start to life. If he does check out to have a hearing problem, perhaps it stemmed from those events that followed his birth. But not to worry. My nephew does fine in school, and his classmates don't think twice about his hearing aids. It has become a part of him. It is going to be fine. I will keep you in my prayers.
