My daughter, age 3 1/2 weighs about 35 pounds and has always been on a relativelt low dose of cortef. When she was on liquid she took 3ml per day. She has been on pills since last spring 2.5mg three times day (total 7.5 mg). Her dr. has always said she is on a relatively small amount yet growth has continued at a regular pace and bone age is always right on target. Her andostendione has dropped below 10 on last two visits, her plasma renin has been below 20 since January and her 17OHP was 5.2 in August. Our endo does not check 17OHP on a regular basis he has explained why several times but I am still confused, but this is a decrease of 17OHP of 308 last Nov. Long post but the Dr. says her dose is right for her.
