Laurel, I'm glad that it helped make a bad situation better. It sometimes helps for one child to understand on a more physical level what their sibling is going through. Once they can understand the level of pain that their brother or sister goes through on a regular basis they can empathize a bit more and perhaps be a little more patient and understanding. I'm also willing to bet that his sister was glad to be able to share and help make him feel better for a change. Don't worry about sharring the Emla cream. I had asked my pediatrician if it was alright and he said he could think of no reason why not. He would have let her use it for her next round of shots anyway so we just were that much ahead of the game. As for ANY kind of medication though, perscription OR over the counter, you should watch for any bad reactions, but you won't know until you try it. Again, I'm glad it helped.
