Re: TO Lisa D.

Lisa, That is a big factor. Especially the littlest ones. They HATE to be held down. I can remember my daughter screaming when she was an infant before the needle even touched her. I sit with her on my lap now. I used to have to put her in a death grip. Afterward it was me crying because I hated putting her through that. Just try to remember they are not little forever. The first time I put the EMLA cream on my daughter she cried just as hard as if she got her blood drawn. Talk about discouraging. Then after a couple of times, it didn't bother her. I have to be honest with you, before I discovered EMLA cream I was a bear to live with the night before her blood draws because I knew what the next day held. So I decided to pray REALLY hard before we went into the hospital. She cried a little, but since I started to pray before draws, it has not been horrifying. It helped tremendously to pray. Good luck with your next draw. I hope you can get the cream. If you can't, I am sure there is some way it will get to you.
