My son also ballooned up in weight when put on the pill. I was beside myself and didn't know how to stop it. He was obviously starving and needed to eat quite frequently. After we lowered his dose, and his body got used to the pill form, he began to lose some of the weight and cushinoid symptoms. His appetite leveled off and he went through a growth spurt. He grew 2 inches in 6 months. This seemed to balance him out a bit although he is solid as a rock! He remains muscular in his legs and buttocks as well as arms and chest area. He is only 5 years old. Hang in there, I hope it all balances out for you after your child gets used to the new meds.
