As to what to expect with the tests-an IV line is put in and a baseline blood draw is taken. Then a medication is administered, and blood is drawn every 1/2 hour, up to 2 hours. The ACTH stimulation tests the adrenals, the LHRH stimulation tests the pituitary gland. Results can take a few days. What you describe in your daughter does sound like it could be CAH, maybe even a mild salt-wasting case. But, once the IV line is in the tests are not bad, just a long wait. Hang in there, you'll have an answer soon. Definitely watch your daughter closely, and don't be afraid to bring her to the ER if in doubt. Good luck, prayers are with you.
