Re: mood swings, in general!

Sam - before we knew about Christina's condition (at 4 yrs) "mood swings" was a nice way of putting it. Let's just say my husband and I sometimes referred to her as "Sybil"...or "Christina Bright and Dark".....our ways of coping with humor when we didn't know what was going on. She still gets very moody when her levels are off. She's now 6 and, as a matter of fact, had a crying spell at school today.....her emotions totally overcame her during math and she just started crying. However, I believe this was a direct result of Brilliant Mom totally forgetting her morning meds! (Thank God I only do THAT once in a blue moon!) Her body didn't have everything it needed to keep hormones in check. Our bodies respond normally by producing cortisol during times of stress (physical AND emotional) when our bodies needs it....I guess it makes sense that our kids might feel 'moody' when they're bodies aren't producing what they need. Yes, I've mentioned it to the ped endo.....but, basically, we do the best we can with what we have.
