Alyson, Where you are at 11 weeks now... you need to decide quick. The CVS is done, usually, between the 10th and 12th weeks. That gives you a week. No pressure! I will be having my CVS tomorrow. I will be 1 day short of the 12th week. The test WILL tell you the sex of the child. We are hoping to have that answer by Friday. There are a lot of sites on the internet that will explain CVS for you. Some might scare the pants off you too. You have to read all and believe some. It seemed to be accurate and truthful without being scary or sensational. At first I was against having the CVS done. However when you really look into it... it is not much different than the amnio... IF you are going to have one or the other. If I didnt have to have either... I wouldn't!! But since we NEED to know... off I go. I will let you know how the procedure itself feels... after tomorrow. Susan
