I just received the results of my daughter's yearly bone x-ray. "Bone age = 2 years compared to chronological age of 3yrs 7 months Abnormal Bone age". Her appointment with the endo is on the 27th. This X-ray had to be done at the doctor/clinic of her regular ped because our new HMO insurance would not approve it to be done at the Children's Hospital where it has been done in past.I have a few questions maybe someone can help me with. 1. Can the x-ray be done or read differently by different facility? Is is important that the same place does it? 2. Why would there be such a drastic change when last year it was exact match with chronological age? 3. Her blood levels have always shown to be ok and her height has remained in the 50%tile. 4. Is there any need to call the endo prior to the appointment or just wait till the 27th? ThanksDina
