Re: 17 OHP levels - normal range?

That is a good question. All seem to vary. I know that our new endo gives us the result sheets from the lab each time and the normal ranges for a non CAH patient are listed on the bottom. We are also ABNORMAL and often it is flagged and rechecked. Our endo says that if we kept the 17 OH Progesterone within those ranges the side effects of to much prednisone would be great. One thing I heard is that they like to keep the ng/dl under 1000. We've recently exceeded that and have increased meds. I just keep getting the feeling that there is no normal or average or anything when dealing with CAH. Each and everyone is a different case.... Kind of scary.... that's why we as parents and CAH patients have to keep up on how they feel, stresses, etc. so much! I'd like to learn more.... Our daughter is 21 and there seems to be a lot less out there for adults than there is for children... We need to keep asking and praying that more research and info will be made available for all CAH patients! Vicky
