Hi Erin,

It's great to hear about taking medicine, etc. from the kid's point of view.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

My son is 7.  Unlike most kids with CAH, he takes dexamethasone, instead of cortef.  Like prednisone, it is longer lasting than HC....in fact, we only have to give it to him once a day, so, like you said, it is very convenient and easy to remember.

Unfortunately, because dex isn't often used for young kids, it kinda has a bad rep.  We really like our son's doctor, though, and trust that he knows what he is doing.  Every once in a while, though, when I start reading about some of the side effects of the strong medications like prednisone and dexamethasone, I start worrying and doubting that we are doing the right thing.  My son, however, has always said that he feels better on the dex, compared to the cortef.  I was just wondering if, having been on two different medications yourself (cortef and prednisone), you had any opinion about whether you felt any different (side effects, etc.) when you took one vs. the other.  Having "been there, done that," any thoughts you'd like to share would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

P. S. Nice pics!
