ALOHA TO YOU ALL!!!!!
11/2/00 9:14 PM
Sorry to worry you guys. You can't imagine the running around I've been doing in order to get ready for this vacation! I finally found a vial of the flu vaccine and had to drive over to that pediatrician's office, take it to my pediatrician's office, get my kids off the bus, put the EMLA cream on both of them and run back over to our pediatrician and get their shots! WHEW! It was the first time my daughter had used the EMLA (except for her bee sting incident) and she said that she didn't feel anything. My son insisted on watching the injection for some reason and then proceeded to have a melt down. Oh well, at least that's one thing off my endless list of things to do. My husband has been traveling most of last couple of weeks and I've been trying to get everything done for the trip, say good- bye to friends and family, vote via absentee ballot, have a tag sale (that was my husband's idea)and pack two weeks worth of clothes for everyone. Right in the middle of all of that, the heating coil on our dryer went! Needless to say, I really need this vacation!! We haven't heard back yet on the results of my son's last blood test. His previous test showed he was under suppressed but the ped endo felt that the other levels didn't support the elevated OHP levels so - re-test. I'll just have to bring extra meds and call the endo from Maui (thanks again for the list of endos Cindy). I don't know how I'm going to do without you guys for two weeks, I am already having withdrawal symptoms. I guess I'll have to force myself to have a couple of strawberry dacquiries to help ease the transition. Maybe by the time I come back I will have an answer from the company I have been working with about whether or not they can make any of those home blood test kits. I will let you know. I hope everyone stays healthy and happy as we head into the flu season. I know this is a scary time for us all. I'll be praying that we all make it through this year all right. BTW - I have been enjoying all of the beautiful faces alternating on the header. It is so great to actually see the faces of the very children we have been praying for and reading about over the months (and years for some of you). It makes this board just that much more personal and familiar. Talk to you soon! Aloha and, don't forget to VOTE!
