Hi Lynn, I live in Calgary, my 11 month old son has CAH. We have had genetics testing done at the Alberta Children's Hospital. To have genetics testing done in Alberta, you must be referred to a genetics clinic by your doctor/endo. The genetics clinics in Alberta are out of the hospitals. To be referred your doctor can call and make you an appointment there or give you a referral letter. My sister wanted to have testing done to see if she is a carrier, we found out that at the Children's hospital they are able to tell if you are a carrier with in about a 90-95% accuracy range. They test for the 8 most common types of CAH (21 hydroxylase deficiency). The testing was covered under Alberta Health Care. If you can't get a referral you can try Cornell/Weill medical college in New York. Click the link at the top of the board that says people, you will see Dr. Maria New, click on her and you will go to the web site that gives a link to the genetics testing information. It costs 600.00 U.S. per sample throug Cornell. If you have any other questions regarding CAH genetics testing please post on the board or feel free to email me at nanddgregory@netscape.net Good Luck.Diane
