As others said, we were also told that the child only needs the dose split the first year he/she receives the flu vaccine. Last year our son, then 18 months, got the vaccine in 2 doses. This year, almost 2 1/2, he only needed to go in once. Your situation sounds consistent with what I have read, and what we were told by his pediatrician.
