TeresaHi Amber,
I've only just found this board, and have loads of questions. Your earlier message caught my eye, so I hope you don't mind sharing what you know with me.
I am 7 weeks pregnant, and have a cousin with CAH. My husband and I went for genetic counseling just yesterday, and were told that if we are both carriers (which seems a really small chance, but still exists..) I would have to start taking Dex BEFORE I was 7 weeks pregnant for it to help. Does this match with info you've been given? I gather you started taking it pretty early, but do you happen to know if it would still be helpful after 7 weeks have passed?
Was it hard for you to decide to take it, or is it just no question for you? I'm a little concerned, since we don't know yet whether either my husband or I are even carriers (they're checking our blood now, but won't know for another few weeks), so I'm not sure of the ramifications of taking if the fetus is not affected with CAH. I know there is no real evidence of it causing problems, but...?
Anyway, thanks so much for any light you can shed on any of this,
Teresa
