Hi Teresa First of all congrats!! Ok where should I start!! I started taking Dex at almost 6 weeks. The counselor told us that they reccomend starting Dex by the 8th week. It was hard to decide to take Dex but it was also very easy. Our daughter, Sara CAH salt-wasting was born with ambiguous genitailia (sp?) and she had surgeory at 4 month old.She is great and a very happy child. My husband and I didnt want to have to do that again. Thats what made it easy to start Dex. Has the Dr's suggested anything as far as starting Dex until the results come in so that IF you both are carriers then you willbe on it, and if you both arent carriers you can be weined off of it. Its a big decision and only you and your husband can make it. I was told that taking Dex even if the fetus isnt affected it wont cause problems (that what they told me) I honestly am ready to be off of it...I am scheduled to have an amnio in 3 weeks and cant wait. You may react to Dex differently then me or anyone else. Its just like anything....meaning that everyone reacts different to meds... what I am experiencing you may not...even with all the pregnancy stories.. listen to them but it doesnt mean it will happen to you!!! I feel like I am rambling on. I hope I have answered all your questions. Please feel free to email me gbeard1@nycap.rr.com If I forgot anything I apologize just ask me again!!! Ask as many questions to the counselor and the Dr's..I write them down and always have a list for them!! AmberAmber
