Excuse me for butting in, but I am always interested in this topic, as I took dex during my pregnancy with my salt-wasting daughter with GREAT success! We were told, Teresa, to start the dex as soon as I missed a period - and this is fairly standard practise here in Canada (I think!). I am also under the impression, however, the even if you can take it for a shorter period of time, that every little bit helps. To me, Amber's endo's advice seems to make more sense, as the brain and genitals don't even START to develop until well after the 8th week, so I wouldn't fret just yet! The chances that you and your husband are both carriers is pretty slim, but even if it is true, in my opinion you still have plenty of opportunity to start the dex treatment. God's blessings on your pregnancy!Wendy-Lee
