Vicky: I don't have experience with life insurance for my kids. They were covered with my husband's health insurance through the UFT, since he is a teacher. My daughter has since taken COBRA from my husband's policy. She started working full time, but has to wait 3 months before she is eligible for insurance from her job. I looked at the health insurance application, and there is nothing asking about preexisting conditions. So I think group policies must be different. she lives and works in Philadelphia, and the group policy is Keystone HMO. I hope this info helps.She will also be covered by the company's group life insurance.
