Re: Re: Oversuppression and Behavior

The biggest behavioral difference I noticed in my son when he was oversuppressed was an absolutely unbelievable amount of energy. He almost bordered on manic. He was not quite 2 years old when he was most oversuppressed. He is almost 2 1/2 now, and still might be slightly oversuppressed, but his energy is much closer to the normal, high energy toddler range now.

Some examples

 - He would wake up in the morning (usually by 6:00am even though he went to bed at 9:00/9:30pm) and run circles through our house. He would just run and run for up to 30 minutes. This overactivity continued throughout most of the day.

- Whenever we went somewhere where we had to wait (e.g. a resteraunt) I would pick a spot a bit away from me and have him play a "game" where he would run to the spot and back to me. He would run over and over and over again. I felt like I was exercising a black lab puppy. People would just laugh at us. It was like he would never ruu out of energy.

He has always been a little on the cranky side - just like his mom :) - so I didn't really notice that change in him. It does almost seem like he was less able to control his emotions when he  was undersuppressed; but then again he is only 2 1/2 and who has emotional control at 18 months old. So hard to separate the CAH and non-CAH things.

I hope you find the right dose.
