Hey, Beth - for what it's worth....babies sometimes name themselves. We had a great name picked out for our daughter 6 yrs ago....Susan....then she was born....we called her Susan... then they came to tell us she needed to go to NICU...then to a different hospital....and I tossed and turned all night with the name "Christina" floating in banners all through my head. I called the NICU in the morning and said, "Her name is Christina". They "x"-ed out "Susan" her cute little name card at her incubator and wrote in her REAL name. We had NEVER, in the big ol' honkin' list of names, had thought of Christina....but I couldn't get any rest until I called the NICU and told them "Christina". My mother-in-law knew....don't ask me how.....and she just said, "Honey, sometimes babies just name themselves". It was the strangest yet neatest thing.....it was only after we called her Christina that I really, really felt the mother/daughter bond. (Hey - 'Christina' ends in the letter 'a'!!!)
