At the start of vomiting I give our daughter (9) the injection.

I used to try to get her to keep the cortef down, but it never

seemed to work.  I think you can tell if they have a stomach

bug where it is not going to stop for awhile or if once up is

enough to clear them out.  The phenergan they use to stop

vomiting puts the kids to sleep.  We don't use that anymore

either.  Only twice after a shot did we take her to the ER

since she kept vomiting and couldn't sip fluids.  You did the

right thing; always trust your instincts and be proactive.
