dosage change

We just got back my 7 month old daughter's last lab results. The nurse called and told me everything looked normal and told me to to have Zenya stay on her current dosage of 2.5mg in am and 5mg in pm of Cortef. I remarked that the endo had said she was going to change her scheduling to 3 times a day and asked if the endo had said anything. So she apparently talked to the doctor and called back the next day. This time she said that we were to give our daughter 1.25 am, 1.25noon and 1.25pm. This equals to 5mg total when before she was on 7.5 total per day. Her reasoning is that according to the ratio using body weight and height figured that her dose was "generous". I'm very concerned. She's not oversuppressed. Why mess with something if it is broken? Has anyone heard of changing a dosage based on the formula alone? I understood that each individual makes different amounts of cortisone and that's why it's so hard to get the dose right in the first place. Needless to say we are keeping a very close eye on her and getting retested in 5 weeks. I have no problems calling the endo before that if I feel there is a problem. I know crankiness is a sign of undersuppression. What are other symptoms? Can symptoms happen after only 1 day on the new dose? Maybe I'm imagining things but she was cranky and frustrated by the slightest things today. Normally she is VERY happy and easy going!! Thanks for your help, Julia
