Thanks for your reply. I have a few of other questions, if that's okay. How long has Erin been on prednisone, and did you notice any difference in her growth rate after the medication change? Also, since prednisone is stronger and lasts longer than cortef---as is dexamethasone---did you ever notice, or did she ever complain of, any side effects? I have to say that I feel my son is also better controlled on the dex than on the cortef, but you are in the unique position of having two different CAH children, each on a different medication, and can see it from both sides at the same time!
Also, I've heard of Dr. Migeon and believe he's considered quite an authority on CAH. You must feel quite lucky to have him as your children's doctor! Out of curiosity, has he ever expressed an opinion on whether he prefers the long or short acting meds, or does he usually just "mix and match" depending on what seems to work best for the individual child?
