Selene, You did all the right things. All you have to do is imagine what you would feel like if you didn't take your child in and it went the other way. I was recovering from surgery one day and my husband was out of town. My mother was staying with me to watch after the children. My son got a virus. My mother didn't want to bother me with it so she just kept giving him liquids and changing his diaper. He wasn't even a year old yet. I also believe that she was in a bit of denial. Finally, I was able to get out of bed and check on him myself and found him with purple fingers, lips and ALL extremeties. He was also very dehydrated. By the time I got him to the hospital, he was so dehydrated that they couldn't get a line in. They had to drill into his bones in order to directly rehydrate. Needless to say, my mother will never question my instincts again, and she will never wait so long before telling me that he is not looking to well. It doesn't matter what others think, it just matters that you keep your child alive and well. Listen to your motherly instincts and you should be alright! You are doing a fantastic job. Keep up the good work!!!
