Chris DJulia,
A 2.5mg decrease sounds like alot, especially when the nurse said your daughter's levels were good. Twice now we have had situations with my son where the first thing we were told wasn't correct. Once, the dr. said one thing in the appt and then the prescrip read something different. Another time the dr. looked at my son's chart and say "so, he is on x amount" when he wasn't. The recent changes just hadn't been updated in the chart. I think it is very important to call the nurse and ask her to check again with the dr.
I think that often times the dr.s are so busy that when they are asked a question on a patient and they don't have the patient and chart sitting right there, they may answer in a way they would not otherwise. Or, if the charting isn't excellent, it can be very difficult for the dr. to come up with a quick answer to a nurse waiting to make a call.
The dr.s nowdays are under such time pressure, I think patients have to be ready to ask questions and be an advocate to make sure you are getting the full attention thats needed.
Keep us posted on your daughter.
