RX for increased dose

I have a question about how various doctors write scripts to account for the need to increase the Cortef dose in times of illness.  We have seen a variety of endos and also discussed with pharmacists, but haven't received a good answer.  One endo did write the script to allow 3 times the usual amount - that was a couple years ago when my son was still taking suspension.  We ended up with 10 or 12 bottles!!  I have been getting around it by refilling as early as our RX plan permits, so that I always have plenty on hand, but I just wondered if there was a particular wording that would work as well.  Thanks in advance for your responses.
