As others have said, the pill splitters work great. My 2 1/2 year old son is now on 3.75 mg/day divided into three doses. We split the pill into quarters and be sure and give it "in order" so he has the "whole" pill every 32 hours. When we first switched to pills he wouldn't take them, he was very used to the liquid. After a few weeks of trying everything, I once again tried just giving him the pill (or part of pill). He took it, chewed and swallowed it, and has been doing that ever since.  8 months ago, I never would have believed he would do that.

(By the way,18 out of 19 patients on the liquid Cortef were not getting the correct dose because of the faulty suspension.  Many people had very serious problems on it. Although it was convenient, it was a dangerous, defective product.)
