My son who is now 4 has what the doctor calls night terrors where he seems like he is awake but he is screaming uncontrollable and seems to look right through us when we are holding him and trying to comfort him.

His non CAH sister has them also and our doctor said that they are inherited from the parents.

Caleb's bed times seem to only come on the days when he misses his nap or when he gets real tired.

If you know that they are really over tired you should let them fall asleep and then wake them about 10 to 15 minutes later because the dreams start when they go in to the deep sleep (REM??) too fast from being too tired.

That has helped us many times but not always.

I never thought about it being a CAH thing though but our daughter could be a carrier and have enough of whatever it is to have the dreams for that reason also.
